'I gave a sauce for every 2 nuggets': Best times food service workers rebelled against corporate and gave the customer more than they paid for

They were on minimum wage, but they displayed maximum generosity.

A lot of us greatly underestimate our ability to brighten someone's day, but we are all capable of it if we really try. A small compliment or kind gesture can be just what another person needs, and it is also good karma if you are the kind to believe that you get back the energy that you give out. It isn't hard to make a positive impact.

You know who doesn't like it when we try to make a difference through regular, small acts of humanity towards our fellow people? Why, big, bad corporations, of course. That would stop them making so much money from us, and that is a situation that simply won't do. They are entitled to not only our every last dollar, but also our loyalty to the cause of mindless consumerism.

While anybody who participates in mainstream society has to contribute to this to some extent, that doesn't mean that they have to let it get the better of them. It is still possible to rebel against what we are told is the right way to do things, even if that happens in fairly insignificant ways within the system.

  • Being an employee for some kind of chain or working in the service industry in general can prove to be demoralizing, but there are ways to make it better. When a former McDonald's worker revealed that he used to give people extra nuggets, other food service employees (and a couple in other lines of work) were eager to share their own stories of making sure customers got more than they paid for.

I have one family 8 chicken breast for their 8 piece meal because I didn't wanna pack it up for the next days cold. chicken options. I always gave extra because I didn't care and I didn't wanna do extra work at night.
